Common questions
Is my file safe?
Yes. Your PDF is processed entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly — it is never uploaded to any server. We never see it, store it, or transmit it.
Do I need an account?
No account, no sign-up, no email required. Open the editor, load your file, edit, and download.
Does this work on iPhone or Android?
The editor works in any modern browser including mobile Safari and Chrome. For the best experience on complex documents, a desktop or tablet is recommended.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
Scanned PDFs are images with no real text layer. You can still place text, shapes, and signatures on top of them — the editor detects scanned PDFs on load and lets you know.
Will the download look exactly the same?
All edits are overlaid on the original PDF using pdf-lib, so the base document is untouched. Fonts, images, and existing content remain identical. Only your additions are new.
Is there a file size limit?
No artificial limit is imposed by the editor — it runs in the browser so your device memory is the only constraint. Most PDFs up to several hundred MB work without issues.

Scanned PDFs
If your PDF is a scanned image, it has no real text layer — we detect this on load and tell you clearly, rather than letting you discover it mid-edit.
Signatures are not legal attestations
The signature tool places a graphical image on your document. Whether it constitutes a legally binding e-signature depends on your jurisdiction.
Whiteout is not redaction
Covering text with a white box hides it visually but does not remove the underlying data from the file. Never use whiteout for sensitive information.
